A new IT company is coming to town! India-based company Mindtree announced Monday that it is opening an office in Redmond close to Microsoft‘s headquarters, which happens to be one of Mindtree’s biggest clients.
Mindtree will develop a 13,000-square-foot facility that will be used as a delivery center to develop and deliver IT solutions for their clients – particularly around mobile, gaming, and the cloud. Mindtree spokesman David Barkoe announced that 25 people will work at the office initially but they expect rapid growth, growing quickly beyond more than 125 employees.
This will be the second delivery center in the United States for Mindtree, which is headquartered in Karnataka, India. It is one of the fastest-growing tech firms in the world, with offices in 14 countries. The move to Redmond highlights the importance of Microsoft as an anchor of Greater Seattle’s ICT industry, its presence alone drawing thousands of talented workers and FDI to our area.
