Interested in a career in international trade? Highline Community College has a new opportunity for you.
Highline is launching a new Customs Broker’s Examination prep course this summer. U.S. Customs Brokers help importers and exporters meet industry standards and government regulations. In a state so dependent on international business, brokers are crucial in making sure the process goes smoothly, potentially averting or softening the costs associated with non-compliance. Presently, there are 11,000 active licensed customs brokers nationally, and this number is expected to continue growing.
The ten-week course is one of the first in-class prep courses offered in the Puget Sound region. The class runs from July 18 to September 19, 2012. Microsoft’s Director of International Trade, John Soares, will be a featured speaker during the course. He has over twenty years of experience in the field of international trade and will provide critical insights.
The actual date of the Customs Broker’s test is October 12, 2012.
