Abu Dhabi
* 5th largest GDP per capita in the world, with 7.4% growth in 2007
* Largest Emirate within the UAE and home of the national capital
* 9.2% of the world’s oil reserves, which are expected to last 150 years
* 200 natural islands
Dubai
* 80% of the population is made up of expatriates from all over the world
* Around 15 - 25% of the world’s cranes are operating in Dubai at any given time
* Dubai is expected to run out of oil in 10-15 years, and oil revenues account for only 6% of GDP
* Tallest building in the world, Burj Dubai, which will stand at 160+ stories tall
* Boeing delivers 1-2 planes per month to Emirates Airlines
Reciprocal Visits
The 2009 International Study is already paying dividends even before the trip takes place. Since 2007 when planning began for the International Study Mission to the UAE, the Greater Seattle region has seen an increase in the number of visitors from both Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
