By invitation from Congressman Jim McDermott, the Indonesian Ambassador to the US is pleased to provide an economic update and field questions regarding business with Indonesia.
Amidst the global economic slowdown and uncertainty in the global financial market, Indonesia’s economic growth in 2012 remains robust, driven by buoyant domestic demand mainly from private consumptions and investment. The economy was estimated to grow by 6.3% in 2012 and forecasts show that growth in 2013 and 2014 will be even higher.
Two-way trade between the US and Indonesia reached its historical high in 2011 with 26.5 billion dollars. However, the potential for growth is great.
