Please join us for a discussion on the Korean economy and opportunities for Washington state companies under the U.S.-Korea Free Trade Agreement (KORUS FTA) with a 23-person, high-level business delegation from Korea. The delegation is comprised of chairmen and presidents of 23 Korean firms, representing sectors that include agriculture, medical devices, real estate, financial services, electronics and textiles.

Over the past 60 years Korea has transformed itself from one of the most impoverished countries in the world to the third largest economy in Asia. Today Korea is Washington State’s fifth largest export market with two-way trade valued at $5.5 billion in 2012. Major Washington state exports to Korea include aircraft, food and agricultural products and electronics, and education.

With the highest broadband penetration levels in the world, Korea was ranked as the world’s most advanced ICT economy in 2011 by the ICT Development Index. Information and communications technology is a key sector for both the US and Korea, with US companies exporting $8.3 billion in computer technology and electronics to Korea in 2008.

Companies in the delegation include:

Poogsan Group | Nara Holding Corp. | Mson Co., Ltd. | Meta Biomed Co., Ltd. | Exicon Co., Ltd. | Samwon-tech | Cheil Grinding Wheel Ind Co., Ltd. | Hanil Co., Ltd. | AMI Inc. | KCTEXCO | Boyang Co., Ltd. | Korina Trade Co, Ltd. | Dae Jin Semiconductor | Modern Industry | BKR Co., Ltd. | Sunwoo Co. | Haesung | Gale International |
